A photo frame in your parents' home that updates itself
You take the photos. One is chosen each day. It appears, framed, in your parents' or grandparents' home: on their iPhone or iPad, on an old iPhone standing on a shelf, or on their TV. They never have to open a chat, download a file, or scroll a feed.
What they need
An iPhone or iPad signed in to iCloud, and the free DailyAlbum app. No account, no sign-up, no purchase on their side. It uses none of their iCloud storage.
For a TV: any TV that takes AirPlay, or an HDMI adapter. DailyAlbum shows only the framed photo, its date, and your note on the TV; the iPhone becomes the remote.
For a frame on a shelf: an old iPhone on a charger in landscape. StandBy shows the day's photo full screen. An iPad on a stand works the same way.
How it works
Subscribe to DailyAlbum Family (first month free) and send one invitation link. When your parents open it, your days begin to arrive: today's photo and your one-line note, in the same wooden frame you see on your own phone.
Share every day, or only the days you tag. You can change this at any time, and you can stop sharing at any time.
Photos travel through your own iCloud's shared area to their device. The developer never sees them.
Why not a group chat or a shared album?
A chat buries photos under messages and needs someone to keep posting. A shared album is a pile that grows. A frame shows one picture at a time, quietly, without asking anything of the person looking at it. That is what grandparents actually want: today's picture, large, on the wall.
Compared with a hardware digital frame
Hardware frames (Aura, Nixplay, and others) cost money up front and need their own app and account. DailyAlbum uses a device your family already has, and the picture changes once a day, so it feels like a photograph, not a slideshow.
Questions
Do my parents need to pay?
No. Viewing is free. Only the person sharing needs DailyAlbum Family.
What if they are not comfortable with technology?
After the first tap on the invitation, nothing is required. The photo changes by itself. On an old iPhone in StandBy, the frame is simply on whenever the phone is charging.
Can more than one family member watch?
Yes. Invite each household; each one sees the same days.
