Privacy Policy

In short

Photos are read from your photo library and processed on your device to build your daily record, the calendar, Frame Mode and the widgets.

Photos are not sent anywhere by default. Only when you turn on photo sync or family sharing is a copy of the photo you chose stored in your own iCloud.

The developer cannot view your photos, your notes, or those private iCloud records. There is no analytics and no third-party tracking.

No account

DailyAlbum needs no registration and no password. Optional iCloud sync and family sharing use your own Apple Account; we never see it.

What is stored on your device

Which photo you chose for each day, your one-line notes, tags, and your settings are stored on the device (and in a shared container so the widget can read them).

DailyAlbum Archive, part of DailyAlbum Plus, saves a copy of each chosen photo inside the app so the day still shows even if the original is later deleted from your library.

Optional iCloud sync and family sharing

iCloud sync (free) stores your day choices and notes in your personal iCloud, so they survive a new phone or a reinstall. Syncing these records alone does not upload photos.

Sync this day's photo (DailyAlbum Plus) stores a copy of each chosen photo in your own iCloud, so your days appear on devices that do not use iCloud Photos.

Family sharing (DailyAlbum Family) stores copies of the days you chose to share in your own iCloud and makes them readable by the family members you invited. Viewing is free for them, and their app writes nothing back to you.

All of this lives in your Apple Account. The developer has no server holding your photos and cannot read these records.

Permissions

Photo library: read-only. Used to show your photos on the calendar, on the day screen, in Frame Mode and in the widgets.

Notifications: optional and off unless you turn them on. Used only for the reminders you chose (a photo from this date in a past year, and the monthly album).

Purchases

DailyAlbum Plus is a one-time purchase and DailyAlbum Family is a subscription, both processed by Apple. DailyAlbum never receives or stores your payment details.

Children

The app collects no personal data and shows only the photos already in your own library. It is not directed at children, and nothing is uploaded to us regardless of who uses it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date.
