A one-photo-a-day diary app for iPhone
DailyAlbum (1枚かざる in Japan) is a diary made of photos: one photo for each day, a short note if you want one, and a calendar that fills up month by month. You keep shooting the way you always do. The app picks one photo for the day, and you can swap it any time.
What it does
Each day gets exactly one photo. That limit is the point: a year becomes 365 pictures you can actually look back on, not 12,000 you never open.
Empty days fill themselves. DailyAlbum looks at what you shot that day, prefers photos with people and pets, and skips screenshots and receipts. Everything runs on the device; nothing is uploaded for this.
Under the photo there is room for one line. "Still fits in my hands." "Stepped on every single leaf on the way home." That is the diary.
How it is different from a photo library or a journaling app
Photos stays a pile. DailyAlbum is a selection: one per day, chosen once, kept forever on a calendar you can scroll through by month.
Journaling apps ask you to write. DailyAlbum asks for nothing. If you never type a note, you still get a complete year of pictures.
Video-a-day apps (like 1 Second Everyday) compile clips into a movie. DailyAlbum keeps still photos and shows them framed, on a calendar, in a widget, and on a TV or an old iPhone used as a frame.
What it costs
The calendar, the daily photo, notes, search, iCloud sync of your choices and notes, widgets, StandBy, and a time-limited Frame Mode are free. DailyAlbum Plus (one-time purchase) removes the Frame Mode limit and keeps a copy of each chosen photo in the app. DailyAlbum Family (subscription, first month free) puts your days in your family's app, like a photo frame in their home. Viewing is free for the people you invite.
Privacy
Your photos stay in your own iPhone and iCloud. The app only records which photo you chose for each day and what you wrote. There is no account, no server of ours, and no advertising.
Questions
Do I have to choose a photo every day?
No. Days fill themselves from what you shot. You can change the pick any time, or leave the day empty.
Can I add photos from the past?
Yes. Open any past date and choose from the photos taken that day. The calendar back-fills the same way.
Is there an Android version?
No. DailyAlbum is for iPhone and iPad, iOS 17 or later.
